It was a late start to the ski season this year with an arctic blast kicking off the snowfall in Australia. We planned the perfect weekend to get in on the action, with plenty of snowfall during the week and substantial cover on the runs.
With overnight snowfall, everything was lightly blanketed in a sea of untouched powder.
Below is a snap of the magical hour where the sun peaks over the horizon to cast its soft light over the snowy hills of Mount Hotham.
Looks amazing, I did t really ever consider Australia as a ski destination. Where abouts is it?
Thanks James. It’s about a 5 hour drive from Melbourne. I would recommend Mount Hotham or Falls Creek as ski destinations within Victoria otherwise Perisher or Thredbo in NSW. Where are you from?
I’m from the UK and ski lots in the Alps, :))
I’m not sure you could even compare Australian skiing to the Alps! We get excited when there’s over 50cm of snow here!
May I suggest Japan which has AMAZING powder snow? Apparently the locals there don’t ski unless there’s over 2metres of snow! When we ventured there last there was 3metres – despite the snow blizzard we had an epic time!
Awesome
Cool, love your blog by the way
thanks so much 🙂
