There’s nothing more joyous about winter than wrapping yourself up in layer upon layer of warmth – except maybe a glass of mulled wine while watching a marathon of Orange is the New Black (thanks Netflix).
Layering is so great for Melbourne weather with our ‘four seasons in one day’. We’re starting to get to know those days well – when you wake up and it’s still dark and 4 degrees and you put on a bazillion layers so before you even leave the house you’re almost melting. Then you find when you get to work you need to unpeel yourself layer by layer to find your optimum temperature. Whew.
To be honest, I never used to be a fan of thick knitted jumpers and cardigans as I found them bulky and super unflattering, however in the past few years I have managed to find some great knits and am slowly starting to find an appreciation for them. This thick woollen jumper by Ships was on sale in Japan and beckoned me to buy it. Featuring super cute wooden buttons and a thick shawl collar with just the right amount of cable stitching, it’s perfect.
